We regret to announce the untimely demise of veteran actor Murali (46) due to cardiac failure. Known for his subtle performances on screen, the talented actor made it big in Tamil cinema with his unique style and ability to blend romance, pathos and comedy.
Following a massive heart attack, Murali was admitted to Ramachandra Hospital three days back. The end came today (September 8) at 7.30 a.m. He is survived by his wife Shobha, daughter Kaavya and son Adharva.
A famous hero right from his debut in Poovilangu, Murali (from Karnataka) appeared in over 100 films. In Baana Kaathadi, his son Atharva's debut movie as hero, Murali had a cameo role (his last role).
Poovilangu was followed by Pagal Nilavu. Murali became a star with Vikraman’s 1990 super hit Puthu Vasantham. His other memorable films include Porkalam, Vetri Kodi Kattu, Sundara Travels, Poomani, Ali Thanda Vanam, Desiya Geetham, Idhayam, Thanga Manusukkaran, En Asai Machan, Anandam, Samuthiram, etc. He was honoured with Tamil Nadu best actor award in 2001 for his performance in Kadal Pookal.
